Hurricanes and global warming

The environmentalist Mark Lynas has an excellent website.

Lynas wrote an article, originally published in the Washington Post, about the latest hurricanes in the Caribbean and the USA, and their connection to global warming.

Over half of the responses he got were sceptical.

Said one from New Jersey: "This article is a joke, a spoof, right?"

Another wrote the article showed "bias, bigotry, and hatred towards the United States."

Another opined, oddly: "The USA is not a net exporter of CO2 - it's a sink".

But Lynas says "since there's no prospect of us solving the climate change problem without the active participation of the world's most powerful and polluting nation, the fact that so much of its citizenry is in denial doesn't bode well for the planet."

Read the article yourself. Then decide whether the sceptical responses are justified, or simply a case of denial.
